car?
Never got me to thinking about my first car. It was a 75 (possibly 74, been a long time) Ford Mustang II. The ugliest Mustang ever made. It was light yellow, and was rusted along the back trunk, so the old man who own it put black electrical tape over the rust. Everyone called it the bumble bee car. It was one owner before me and it was only $300.00. I can't remember the engine size but it had a Holly 4 barrel. It looked alot like this. |

Oh, and the starter went out on it once every month or two and to get to it you had to take out the motor mounts and jack up the engine.
That's another thing, I could work on it. No new fangled computer parts or brains, just a good old-fashion engine. And when a big, brand new Cadillac re-ended me, all it did was leave the word Cadillac imprinted backwards on my bumper. The Caddy did not fair nearly that well. |

1970 Plymouth Road Runner. I bought it used in '77. It had the Warner Bros. "Road Runner" cartoon logo on the steering wheel and the horn went "meep meep". Rust color body with white vinyl roof.

I didn't start driving right away, I was around 21 and we had a large old brown car. I don't even know what it was, but Boyd totaled it when a kid pulled out in front of him and they did a head on.
Everyone was okay, but the kid was picking up his girlfriend for the prom, and it happened right in front of her parents house. Oops. After that we got a Cutlass type car. With a big old rumbling engine. Ooh, maybe it was a 442? |

Verte found a picture that is quite similar to mine. Picture this one with the trim being gold and a gold sunroof (this is not a sparkly type of gold). It about scared me cause until I looked close enough to see that they were not gold - this car is for sale locally.

Actually, one of my more recent vehicles was a '79 Nova, which I bought for $600, and then sold almost 6 years later for $650! The guy who I sold it to fixed the top and painted it yellow and it's still running strong.
I really loved the '78 Monte Carlo which the folks let me take to college my senior year. It was kind of an O.D. (olive drab) green. I just like the style of those years. Cars nowadays (for the most part) have no character. It looked something like this, but with more rust: ![]() |

My first car was a 1981 Toyota Corolla hatchback that my parents gave me.
The first new car that I bought for myself was a 1989 Mustang GT. My favorite car that I drove a LOT and drag raced though I didn't own it was a 1969 GTO Judge. It's a good thing this thread isn't about all the cars we've had or driven. MT and I would be writing novels. |

Well we can make it a thread about cars we loved or have driven if you want.
I drove a 70 something Corvette, it sucked. They don't make those cars for short people. I actually had to scooch down when pushing in the clutch, my head was below the steering wheel. I just hoped for the best while I was shifting. The smoothest car I ever drove was a Lexus. Man, that was a sweet ride, much better than the Mercedes or BMW. |

I'm gonna tell on MT. You know the movie Gumball Rally? He was working for Goodyear at the time the movie was made. He mounted the tires for ALL those cars...and got to test drive them.
Anyone want to join me in calling MT foul names? |

Don't you call that girl a dummy, you ole mean Mom.
Want me to kick her in the shins, Rockstar? How about ugliest car? I drove and old Galaxy500 with axe holes in the trunk and the vinyl roof torn off, and I had to remove the front bumper because it was mashed in and rubbing on a front tire. But that car ran like a raped ape. |

Hey Puck, wasn't that the car that had stopping problems and we drove straight through an arm at the hospital garage?
I had a friend in highschool who didn't have reverse. Whenever we parked somewhere we'd open up the doors and stick a foot out to push it back out of the parking spot. So we called it the Flintstone Mobile. |
