Default Billboards

I don't know if the rest of you have been following the billboard shit going on in different parts of this country. The FFRF billboard in Cucamonga California apparently was taken down because the city council put pressure on the company that was paid to put it up. My feeling is this----yes the fucking city needs to be sued--------but so does the damned billboard company who took FFRF's money to put it up in the first place and then knuckled under to the political pressure to take it back down.

There's some finger-pointing going on here. The city claims that it had no power to influence the company to remove the sign. The Freedom From Religion Foundation is suing the city, naming the city's Redevelopment Director Linda Daniels, who they say called the billboard company and asked if there was anything they could do.

Although no similar billboards were taken down in other states, there were some billboard companies which refused to put them up at all.

One assumes that this constitutes at least a breach of contract for the billboard company and something a bit more serious for the city for both infringement of freedom of speech and violation of the establishment clause of the Constitution.
