Is anyone planning to go to this? http://reasonrally.org/
The line up is fantastic! There's a contest to win 2 VIP seats. |

I've been watching the momentum for this building on the blogosphere for several weeks now. I'd really love to go.
It should produce some good videos, inside and outside of the official program. The Westboro Baptist Nuts are planning to show up. |

Duh. Just realized it's tomorrow. I'm curious to see how it all goes. Maybe next year.
I'm having a dinner party instead on Saturday night. I'm making a taco bar (make your own tacos thing), with slow cooked pulled pork, grilled cod, ground beef, guacamale, whole black beans, two kinds of salsa, lettuce, sour cream, crunchy and soft shells. I'm also making cornbread with a pepper jam and Mexican rice. My husband has been practicing various Margherita recipes on us all week. |

Sounds fun, AM! (Your party)
I would have loved to go to the reason rally. I really wish my husband and I were on the same page. If he wanted to attend this it would make it so much easier. Swinging a trip by myself with my work schedule and energy level just didn't seem doable. |

If I had tickets to both events I think I would go with the tacos and margaritas.

Grumpy that'd be fun to meet.Dawn-- think about it for next year? My husband really wanted to go too. If you feel up for it next year, you wouldn't be on your own-- you'd have us. |

AM: Think you could handle a 71-year-old gluttonous curmudgeon in a motorized wheelchair?

Does anyone know if the event is being live-streamed? I don't find anything on Google.

I thought it looked interesting, but like so many things, not possible to do on short notice with the distance and work schedule. I am off this weekend, but it's 6 hours each way over mountains to get to the outskirts of DC. Maybe some other year, who knows.

I liked that link Grumpy. I listened to Dawkins, and Nate Phelps. But I especially was moved by the speech from Sean Faircloth. Fucker really nailed it. It's all going to be about activism, and the younger, more secular generation.

There was a good article about Nate Phelps being there. OK, so it's more of an interview with him, I guess.

I'm three hours away from DC, but I just couldn't see it. I'd rather spend the day volunteering at our local foodbank.
