I feel as though my own writing has improved greatly just through writing more and more in online forums such as this. I've learned some rules I don't recall from school and even some punctuation.

I try to use specific words to convey specific meanings. I try to make my sentence structure clear so that alternate meanings cannot be had. After having read a piece about how the Framers of the US Constitution chose their words carefully, I know endeavor to emulate such writing.

Effective communication is about the transfer of ideas and paying close attention to both meaning and structure is the best way to effectively communicate.

Like Shake, I feel that posting on boards has improved my grammar and spelling. No, it's far from perfect, but it's so vastly improved that you would be amazed. So I take no shit from the spelling Nazis.
