I replied in a local forum today after getting irritated at the anti-gay comments of someone:

It started like this with someone (not me) posting:

all my gay buddies please vote hard for democrats, this is our last chance to keep things going our way.
I don't know if this was a serious post or not, sounded silly to me...but this jerk comes back with:

You all are very sick and twisted people. You are a waste of space on this planet. Now you can add the sicko from Colorado, the evangelical leader to your list. He is all yours. You need help. Try not to spread HIV all over the wiregrass sicko.
so of course i had to respond:

I suppose you call yourself christian too

boy THAT pissed him off even more:

I do not condone homosexuality. I personally think it is disgusting. I think people that particpate in homosexuality are mentally ill and should be considered dangerous to the general public. I think homosexuals pose more danger to our children than most people are aware of. And to you, Mrs. So Called Atheist. Your profile definitely tells your story. You are gasping for attention, so letting the world know that you are atheist will help you gain that attention. By the way, you are wrong about being the only atheist, I have heard several of you attention seekers claiming to be atheist. Who really cares if you are an atheist? Not me. If you want to promote homosexuality, go right ahead, its your right. Just like its my right to express my opinion. To answer your question, YES, I am a Christian. I give all my thanks and praise to God. I dont claim to be perfect either. I sin, like everyone else. But I ask for forgiveness of those sins through prayer.

to which i responded:

Well if you are Christian you know Jesus loved EVERYONE. I do believe Jesus had an excellent philosophy and actually do agree with and follow some of his teachings. (do unto others, my dear...remember that!!!) Nice to see you cared enough to look at my profile ;)
I'm sorry for you as you seem to be a very angry person.

made me laugh, just thought i would share. But he does know what i look like now so that does make me a little nervous as he sounds like an angry redneck with a shotgun collection!

thank you! I never respond to anger with anger. It only inflames the situation.

Use pineapples and other spikey plants instead to respond!

*coughing to summon the best Yoda voice I can muster*: "Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering."

Yoda rocks.

Carla, our little local newspaper has an online forum that I sometimes visit, and I've had similar arguments. There's no limit on ignorance, it seems. And I've actually had some folks accept my atheism, even while they claim christianity.

Let me know if there is a cross burning, I'll come help you out. It'll be fun. We'll create mischief!

Use cactuses instead then. Though that is probably forbidden by the Geneva Convention.

I am trying to figure Dave Chapelle in the role of 'Blind Black White Supremacist' saying the things that this xian said. I am laughing myself to death imagining how it would sound on Chappelle show :smt046

LOL!!! I love Dave Chapelle and I could totally see him doing this.

Incidentally, I went back a little later last night and someone had removed both of our posts so I guess there is a bit of fairness down here in conservative America. Or maybe the gay dude is the moderator of the board!:snoopy

I don't know about the folks in the US, but the supreme court held that the military commissions created by the administration violated US as well as Geneva Conventions. Hamdan v. Rumsfeld.

Damn straight! Development of cactus-based weapons is essential to our national security. Intelligence reports indicate that Hugo Chavez has at least 20 mobile cactus weapon development labs in Venezuela.
